See the end of this page for CDs of Jane Austen's Music which were once available on the ISIS label. Unfortunately because of contractual disputes between the directors of ISIS (over which we have no control), some of those discs are no longer available, and there seems no immediate prospect of acquiring a re-issue. Because the CDs were widely distributed to National Trust Shops, the "Pastimes" chain, English Heritage and other outlets, you might still find a copy of them elsewhere. Other CDs may be available from us or from the relevant labels.

DanubiaDiscs006 Begone Dull Care. - Songs and instrumental music from the manuscripts and printed collections at Jane Austen's House in Chawton. Sung by Sophie Bevan and Rogers Covey-Crump with The Windsor Box & Fir Company: Jenny Thomas (flutes) Michael Sanderson (violin) Ian Gammie (bass viol & guitar) Katharine May (square piano & harp).
Landor Records LAN280 Byrdland – Lawrence Zazzo (Countertenor) with the Paragon Saxophone Quartet. - This disc was voted CD of the month by The Sunday Telegraph and highly praised in Grammaphone. It features music of the 16th and 17th centuries (Byrd, Dowland, Gibbons and Purcell) beautifully adapted and performed in the novel setting of countertenor and saxophones. “Hauntingly beautiful”. The music editing, programme planning and arrangement was done at Corda Music by Ian Gammie.
Nimbus NI6174 Haydn à l'anglaise. - Songs by Joseph Haydn in 18th century English versions with accompaniments of fortepiano, guitar and flute. Singers: Emma Kirkby and Rogers Covey-Crump, with Jenny Thomas (flute) Ian Gammie (guitar) and Alastair Ross (fortepiano)
DanubiaDiscs 002 Goethe and the Guitar. - Danubia Disc now on sale from Corda Music. This is an outstanding CD containing 24 songs from the period 1795-1820, settings of poems by Johann Wolfgang Goethe (plus a few by his great friend Friedrich Schiller), using original guitar accompaniments from the time. The singers include the distinguished tenor and member of the Hilliard Ensemble, Rogers Covey-Crump, with Noemi Kiss (soprano) and Michael Sanderson (tenor). Two different guitars of the period are used, both played by Ian Gammie. Several of the songs also have obbligato parts for flute and for fortepiano (played by Jenny Thomas and Katharine May respectively) - the combination of guitar and piano was much more common at this time because the keyboard imstrument was much quieter than the later 19th century monsters. The disc contains fascinating settings of many poems later used by Schubert; he must surely have known (and possibly even played) some of these songs, as they have clear pre-echoes of the Schubertian voice. The full retail price from Corda Music is £11.99 post free, but there are substantial discounts when buying the disc with the printed music editions. Most of the songs are now published, see Goethe Songs
DanubiaDiscs 003 Hail Windsor, Crown'd with lofty Towers. - Pastoral music of the 18th century connected with Windsor and surrounding villages. Sophie Bevan and Rogers Covey-Crump (singers) with instrumentalists from Café Mozart and The Windsor Box & Fir Company.
Naxos 8.570525 Haydn & The Earl of Abingdon. - The Fourth Earl of Abingdon (1740 -1799) was one of the leading English amateur musicians of the 18th century, and was a friend of Joseph Haydn whom he helped to visit England on two occasions. Haydn repaid the compliment by using one of the Earl's songs as a theme for variations in a trio for flute, violin and bass. Songs and instrumental music from Corda Music editions. Performed by Sophie Bevan, Rachel Elliott and Rogers Covey-Crump (singers) with instrumentalists from Café Mozart and The Windsor Box & Fir Company.
Judy Tarling, well known as a leading specialist in renaissance, baroque and early classical string playing has written a superb book on styles and techniques of the period with vast numbers of illustrations and a CD to demonstrate the instrumental music discussed in the text. The CD is drawn mainly from the Hyperion catalogue of specialist early music recordings. See Baroque String Playing for more details. Corda Music also publish a book of playing examples based on the historic research and the professional experience of the author, and a further book of music examples to study instrumental performance of baroque dance music.

In March of that year her work was celebrated with a concert at the Royal Academy of Music, including the Ballade for Viola and Piano (CMP 611) and 'Fantasy' for String Quartet which was written as a student in 1929. We have now published this work (CMP 650). Her String Quartet Op.1 completed in 1980 was also published by us in 1999 (CMP 628). These and other works by Minna Keal can be heard on NMC DO48S (Cello Concerto and Ballade), and on LNT110 for the String Quartet Op. 1, Symphony Op.3, Cantillation for Violin and Orchestra, and the Wind Quintet.
